Electricity remains one of the best values around – you get a lot of benefit for the amount you pay. And the price you pay for electricity has gone up far less than for most other utilities and even for many food items.

Still, customers want to know they are getting the best value possible for every dollar they spend on electricity. To remind our customers of how to use wisely the electricity they buy, NOVEC is currently running print ads in local newspapers.

From time to time you may hear NOVEC mentioned in local radio ads, usually promoting a cause dear to the hearts of our customers. When we promote a non-profit organization that otherwise would not be able to afford to advertise a fund-raiser or other special event, NOVEC illustrates our commitment to the community we live in and serve.

Other Advertising

Our Operation Round Up campaign encourages customers to contribute small amounts each month to a fund that helps pay the winter heating bills of the more needy in our community. This ad runs primarily in the fall and invites non-participants to sign up and help their neighbors.
In 2008, NOVEC began advertising the CashBack returned checks list that is available online. Encouraging former customers to refer to the online list, rather than printing and distributing the 144-page list in booklet form as previously required by the SCC, saves NOVEC customer-owners about $40,000 each year in publication costs.
 
In 2009, NOVEC celebrated 30 years of its very successful Load Management program. The Co-op introduced this innovative program in 1979 as one of the first of its kind in the nation. These ads encourage customers to sign up for the program and help lower wholesale power costs.
