MANASSAS, Va. ― Stan Feuerberg, the Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative president and CEO, notified the company that NOVEC Service Technician Allen “Junior” Payne passed away at home on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in Manassas, Va.

“Today there is a tremendous void with the news of Junior’s death,” Feuerberg wrote in a message to NOVEC employees.  “His contribution as a service technician in Operations and within the company is, and will be, greatly missed.”

Payne worked at Prince William Electric Cooperative and NOVEC for more than 35 years, starting as a tree trimmer and advancing through a number of jobs, from groundman to 1st class line technician in the construction department.  He most recently worked in the System Operations Division as a service technician, a position he held for almost 24 years.
