Manassas, Virginia—Employees of the Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) contributed several truck loads of Thanksgiving food on November 17, 2006 to Operation Turkey, to help feed more than 1,200 low-income families in Northern Virginia.   ACTS in Dumfries, VA, and SERVE, Inc., in Manassas, VA, will distribute the food to families in time for Thanksgiving.

Employees in NOVEC’s Manassas, Minneville and Gainsville offices started the food drive in early November.  So many cans and bags of stuffing mix, vegetables, cranberries, gravy, pie filling and other foods were donated by employees and customers that the collection boxes had to be emptied several times to make room for more food.
