GAINESVILLE, Va. — Today NOVEC demonstrated its ongoing commitment to quality healthcare by presenting the second installment of a $5,000 contribution to the upcoming Cancer Center in Gainesville. NOVEC has supported this joint venture of the Prince William Hospital and Fauquier Hospital since its inception earlier this year.
“At NOVEC, we have a number of employees and retirees who are cancer survivors, who are alive today in large part due to the excellent medical care they have received through the Prince William and Fauquier hospitals,” noted NOVEC President/CEO Stan Feuerberg as he presented Prince William Health System Foundation Executive Director Kenneth L. Collins with the donation check and a bag of daffodil bulbs.
Daffodils are recognized as a symbol of hope to those affected by cancer. In addition to monetary support, NOVEC pledged to return to the building when construction is complete to install and maintain a daffodil garden on the grounds as a continuing symbol of the hope, growth and regeneration, and even beauty, the Cancer Center will bring to the community.
Prince William Hospital and Fauquier Hospital have joined forces to bring a much-needed radiation therapy center to Gainesville. The 20,000-square-foot facility will be built at the intersection of Route 29 and Lake Manassas Drive and is slated to open by mid-2006. When the facility opens, patients will no longer have to drive long distances to receive treatment.
