In the Community
NOVEC provides more than reliable energy. For more than 65 years, NOVEC has helped make the communities it serves better places to live and work. The Cooperative sponsors and supports a wide range of charitable, civic, educational, youth sports and arts organizations in Northern Virginia. From feeding and sheltering the homeless and supporting emergency services, to raising funds to fight diseases, to fostering the performing arts, to helping children “play ball!,” NOVEC has been there.

Cause-Based Marketing
Living in the shadow of the Nation’s Capital makes getting media attention a challenge. To draw attention to the good work and needs of local charitable and community groups outside the Beltway, NOVEC practices cause-based marketing and advertising. Through this program, NOVEC teams with local television and radio affiliates to advertise community partners who courageously and selflessly make a positive difference. NOVEC’s advertising has helped to promote community blood drives, hospitals, libraries, schools, neighborhood safety, food drives, and programs for children.  NOVEC promotes and participates in walks for many health-based organizations, such as the March of Dimes, American Cancer Society and Easter Seals.
