In keeping with NOVEC’s tradition of supporting education, five students have been selected as NOVEC’s representatives to participate in the NRECA’s Annual Youth Tour Conference in Washington D.C. They will have the opportunity to visit the nation’s capitals to see the sights and sounds of our government in action and learn about electric cooperatives.

These students were selected from across our service area to represent the Co-op on the annual Rural Electric Youth Tour. Jonathan Oliver, Jr. of Woodbridge, Rebecca Galvan of Centreville, Joseph Sherman of Fairfax Station, Russell Walker of Manassas and Jessica Martin of Manassas will represent NOVEC in the annual event by visiting Washington, D.C. on June 11-15.

“NOVEC students will join other students selected by their local cooperatives from across the country for a unique learning experience,” said Donna Snellings, NOVEC’s youth tour coordinator. “Together, these five young men and women will learn they have the power to make a difference in their local communities.”

On May 16, these students and their parents visited NOVEC’s corporate office in Manassas to learn about NOVEC, meet Stan Feuerberg, president and CEO and Manley Garber, Chairman of NOVEC’s Board of Directors; and prepare for the upcoming June Youth Tour.
