NORTHERN VIRGINIA – The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative received five Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) recently from Communications Concepts, Inc., and an award for “outstanding achievement in custom media” from Magnum Opus and the Missouri School of Journalism.
The awards recognize overall communications excellence in writing, graphic design, electronic media, and public service campaigns. APEX winners came from a pool of more than 3,700 entries from around the world. Winners include Bank of America, CBS, and the NFL Super Bowl XLIV Program. Magnum Opus winners were selected from more than 550 international entries. Winners include Proctor and Gamble, Marriott Hotels, and The Walt Disney Company.
“I’m pleased that our Public Relations staff members have been recognized for their effective communications by such respected organizations,” says Mike Curtis, vice president, public relations. “Our goal is to provide information our customers want, from energy-saving ideas to news about power outages. These awards show we’re doing our job.”
