NORTHERN VIRGINIA — Through Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative’s 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer group — NOVEC Hands Engaged in Local Public Service, HELPS — the Cooperative is collecting non-perishable food for Operation Turkey from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15. The food donations will help provide Thanksgiving meals for low-income people in Prince William County.
“The Co-op is rooted in the local community, so we feel these efforts help improve the lives of our customer-owners and neighbors,” says Donna Snellings, NOVEC public and government relations liaison.
NOVEC HELPS accepts non-perishable food donations at the Co-op offices in Manassas, Gainesville, and Woodbridge. The SERVE campus of Northern Virginia Family Service, along with Action in Community Through Service, will distribute the food to people who need assistance. Anyone requiring a receipt must drop donated items at either the SERVE or ACTS location.
