NORTHERN VIRGINIA — The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative employee volunteer organization, NOVEC HELPS, is asking area residents to donate non-perishable food to its Operation Turkey food drive to help feed low-income people in Prince William County this Thanksgiving.
NOVEC will accept food donations through Nov. 15 at its Lomond Business Center office in Manassas and its Minnieville office. SERVE, a program of Northern Virginia Family Service, and Action in Community through Service will distribute the food to people who need assistance. Anyone requiring a receipt must drop donated items at the SERVE or ACTS locations.
Donna Snellings, NOVEC public relations liaison, says, “Food donated to Operation Turkey will help make Thanksgiving more joyful for families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet in our current economy. Helping one another is the cooperative way.”
